This policy describes the current build.

Summary

Bookworms shows your Hardcover library on Apple TV (tvOS) or Android (Google TV). The developer does not operate a server, and Bookworms does not send your data to the developer. There is no account with the developer, no advertising, no analytics, and no tracking.

Data Bookworms uses

Hardcover. When you connect Hardcover, Bookworms stores your Hardcover access token in the Apple TV’s Keychain or Android keystore and uses it to read, directly from Hardcover:

– Your library: books, authors, descriptions, covers, reading formats, reading dates, statuses, and your ratings.

– Social information shown in Following, Compare Shelves, and Book Club: profiles and profile photos of readers you follow, their public activity, ratings, and reviews.

Bookworms only reads this information. It does not post, like, follow, change reading status, or otherwise modify your Hardcover account. Hardcover’s own policies govern the data Hardcover holds.

Images. Book covers and profile photos are downloaded from the addresses Hardcover provides. Those image servers receive ordinary connection information, such as your IP address.

Settings. Your view, shelf, date, font, and appearance choices are stored within the app.

Where data is stored

Library and social information, downloaded images, and settings are stored on your TV. The app can remove cached images and data when it needs space; Bookworms downloads them again at the next sync. A local request log records the status and duration of recent requests for troubleshooting. It excludes credentials and book content and never leaves the device.

Optional iCloud storage for tvOS. iCloud storage is off by default. If you turn it on in Settings → General, Bookworms saves a copy of your library information to your private iCloud database so it can be restored on your Apple TVs. Only you can access that database; the developer cannot. It does not include your Hardcover token, images, or social information. Apple’s privacy policy governs iCloud.

Your choices

– **Disable Hardcover** in **Settings → Sources**. This hides its books; the saved copy stays on the device until you delete the app.

– **Revoke access** by deleting the access token in your Hardcover account settings.

– **Turn off iCloud storage** in **Settings → General**. This stops syncing but does not delete the existing iCloud copy. To delete it, remove Bookworms’ data in your Apple Account’s iCloud storage settings.

– **Delete all local data** by deleting Bookworms from your TV.

Children

Bookworms is not directed to children and does not knowingly collect information from them.
