Hi there, I’m Ian Hyzy. I was born in 1995 in the Chicagoland area, and have been fascinated by technology for basically my entire life. I’ve been a real Chicago native since graduating from Milwaukee School of Engineering in 2017.
Today, I’m a Google Workspace expert at a rapidly growing cybersecurity company, where I manage Workspace and build new solutions to help it grow with us. I’m interested in helping people collaborate more effectively and using low-code tools like Apps Script to make management easier for IT and more understandable for users. We’re only at the beginning of how technology can transform work, and I can’t wait to see what happens next.
If you’re a non-profit organization that needs some pro bono advice, please reach out to hi (at) ian.gay. I’ve helped a few smaller organizations decide how they should handle design or policy choices related to their Workspace accounts.
Outside of work and technology, I love taking photos of my two cats, Oscar and Onyx, and occasionally things that aren’t cats. I love open-source and host this blog, and a dozen other open-source tools, on my own server to tinker with. I’m also frequently heading to the movies with friends, and dearly miss Moviepass. Poor Things was my favorite movie of 2023, and The Grand Budapest Hotel is my favorite movie of all time.
